Shannon will be teaching a public humanities course at Minneapolis College this fall: The Minnesota Transform Project.
This is a tuition FREE course that will satisfy MnTC Goal Areas 2 or 9.
From the course description:
“Working in a time and place shaped by George Floyd’s murder and the subsequent uprisings, you will conduct place-based work that seeks to strengthen the relationship between Black, Indigenous, immigrant, and refugee Minnesota communities and the college. In this course, you will explore how the college might facilitate, rather than hamper, breath for Black, Indigenous, and communities of color. You may address these questions through art installations, photography, ethnography, performance, storytelling, language learning and recovery, historical interpretation, and qualitative research. In short, you will work to transform the college and support its full potential to be a site of justice.”
