Red Balloon Bookshop is honored to celebrate the release of Where is My Sister?, the poignant new picture book by local author Shannon Gibney.

In Where Is My Sister? Shannon Gibney’s poetic voice captures the heartbreak of losing an infant and the love that joins family members together. Join Shannon Gibney and local author Kao Kalia Yang for a conversation about the book, followed by a Q&A, book signing, and refreshments.

To attend: This event is open to the public, but registration helps us when considering spatial constraints. You can register for a ticket for free by clicking on the button and preorder a copy of the book at the bottom of this page. Additional copies of Where is My Sister will be available for purchase during the event, but ordering ahead guarantees your copy.

Signing Guidelines: Following the event, Shannon Gibney will sign and personalize copies of the book. If you would prefer not to stay for the signing portion, Red Balloon can have your books signed and personalized for you and will contact you when they’re ready to be picked up.

Accessibility: Red Balloon Bookshop is wheelchair accessible and has a disability parking spot directly behind our store. If you have a disability or medical condition and have questions about or need other specific accommodations, please email events@redballoonbookshop.com or call 651-224-8320.

Code of Conduct: Red Balloon strives to create a kind, safe, and welcoming space where everyone is treated fairly and thoughtfully, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, or ability.

We ask that everyone—booksellers and customers alike—follow these standards whether in our shared physical space or online.
